It’s taken some time to learn this, but fitness without expression is a dead end.  Sure, some people will enjoy workouts for exactly what they are, but many people will need an additional form of progress to love it.

Enter adventure.

I’ve found time and again that team sports, climbing, mountain biking, hiking, running, kayaking, paddleboarding, martial arts, surfing, skiing, skateboarding, etc. provide the foundation for measurable and positive improvement.

What do I mean by that?

I mean that you don’t just step on a scale and say “Yay! I lost the weight.”  You’re not left with the empty feeling of “I should be happy now that I hit my goal, right?”

I mean that when you train your body, improve your strength, what it can do, and how it can move, you allow yourself to vastly improve in areas of fun and recreation that you LOVE and ENJOY!  Who doesn’t want to love and enjoy their life and the things they do?
